Best carpet trimmer I have ever used in 40 years
A brilliant tool. A massive improvment on my old plastic one that I bought from a major DIY store some years and which uses hooked blades (that trimmer never seemed to cut where I wanted, frequently cutting the carpet short). The glider (the white nylon piece on the side on the Conventional Carpet Trimmer) avoids marks the skirting board (the metal guide and nylon glider.fits between the skirting board and the carpet gripper). Whilst it came with no instructions, there is a good American video on YouTube for using the branded version of the tool, but I also found on-line written instructions on a UK website, again for a branded version. I used the printed instructions for making adjustments. Adjusting for different thicknesses of carpet and the amount of carpet excess you want is quite easy. The adjustable handle angle makes fitting under radiators a doddle. First time I used it, fitted two carpets in la fraction of the time it used to take me to fit one.

I was dubious about how good it would be...
I was dubious about how good it would be, but a single application bought new life to my Thorens record turntable cover. Not designed to remove deep scuffs, scratches etc, but left it gleaming like it was brand new.
