Good all rounder
Excellent budget amplifier. A bit short on facilities, but the sound quality at the price cannot be faulted. More expensive amplifiers obviously do certain things better, but there is no area where this does not perform pretty well. It drove a pair of Spendor SP1 speakers in a 30 sq m room to fairly high sound levels, but it will be mainly used with Wharfedale Diamonds (v9.0) in a smaller room.
Build quality is good. All the controls feel solid. The inside is relatively spacious and there seems to be no problem with heat dissipation. On the model I bought (25 years old?) some leakage from the electrolytic caps is evident, and I shall replace these in due course.
