I had some vintage equipment which needed an RS232 interconnector. This cable did just the job.

Compact, readily available and easy to use.
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich I have been using soldering irons all my life - since the age of about 8. I am now 76! The first iron I used had a 25mm bit!!!!
I have used many different types of iron and solder gun. The solder gun having the benefit of quick heat up, but a disadvantage of a large tip. Because of the large tip I used to use both a solder gun and a fine tip thermostatically controlled iron. This worked for years until I got back into private design and development work.
I noticed the KATSU solder station and decided to give it a try. Fantastic result. The iron heats up very quickly and I no longer need the solder gun. There is a variety of tips for the iron (which are easily interchanged on a cold iron) and this has speeded up my work. The iron has even assisted me in desoldering components with one of the large thin tips.
So, in summary, I am delighted, have the unit sitting at the side of my (at present) cramped work bench, but readily accessible and almost always in use.
I have not needed to use the hot air gun yet, since the iron has been very effective at desoldering those parts which I have had to do. But it does work and it is nice to know it is readily available when required.
I have read other comments about the lack of an on/off switch. Whilst this would be a useful facilty (and if I really needed one I could readily install one) I find it quite easy to use the switch on the dedicated power socket feeding the solder station to isolate the power.
