Relevant, great camera system to make use of minolta lenses.
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich With a keen interest in photography, I have been aspiring to move away from the small and noisy sensors used in compact digital cameras. I also have access to a fairly large collection of minolta fitting lenses (though my grandad) and so I wanted to make use of them!
This camera was very highly reviewed on its release, and has the majority of the features a beginner photographer will use today including:
Anti-shake system
auto focus
light metering
automatic exposure settings
flash
a wide range of shutter speeds (useful for creating effects)
easy to use interface
Don't be put off by the relatively low mega-pixel count, the sensor is great and will allow you to crop images with minimal distortion.
After a few days using the camera (admittedly not hard use) I have found that the battery life is good! Write to memory card is great too (using an 800x CF card). I like that some of the features which are processed automatically in more recent DSLR cameras are not automatic in this model, and so it really makes you think about your image and settings (which is important for a beginner photographer!).
The low points I found (which could be to being inexperienced with this system) are that it doesn't cope with indoor / low light very well, leading to resorting to flash which is very overpowering (and could probably use a filter..).
Overall I think this is still a relevant camera today, for beginning photographers to use and practice setting exporting exposures and enjoying the rich images that this camera system is capable of producing.
