Cylinder seems OK, but chain + spring not black as shown in photo
Update 9/10/16: Door closer (cylinder) working just fine.
The door closer itself seems to be fine. It is in its early stages of use, and I'm pushing the boundaries by installing it on a security door. I may see some problems because it's not meant for that heavy a door. That's on me. Science experiment!
Disappointed that the chain and spring are silver metal. Looks cheap, although functional.
I wish there were in-between choices for Yes and No to the questions above, because of the chain and spring. I recommend it because it's functional. Just caveat emptor on the chain and spring.

I have spinal issues

Adjusts easily to provide right amount of support and cushion appropriate for the surface. I have three so far in different homes (family members) -- and counting.
