George Harrison - The Vinyl Collection
The new George Harrison Vinyl Box set is a beautiful item. It comes in a lovely package and the albums are perfect reproductions of the original LPs. Extra Texture, for example, is packaged in the original, die cut cover and inside is the great picture sleeve of George that holds the record itself. The set has all the markings of a true labor of love by George's family with no expense spared. The albums themselves sound fantastic and are sourced from the original master tapes. This is in stark contrast to the recent John Lennon LP box set that was mastered from digital files.
The box set is relatively expensive, but considering the packaging, re-mastering and true analog sourcing, I think it's well worth the price.
This may be the last time these albums are produced in such a meticulous and loving fashion. I strongly recommend that George's fans, and anyone else who loves great music and music history, purchase this set.
