The impact of nationality on the history of Europe
The most incisive analysis of the impact of nationality on European history. Had Toynbee's analysis of the multifarious nationalities of Europe and his ideas on how the Allies should structure post-World War I Europe guided the French and English decision-makers at Versailles it is unlikely that Adolf Hitler and the Nazi criminals would have risen to power in Germany and quite possible that World War II would never have occurred. A remarkable book.
