Warpaint. Delicious music with a vintage twist.
The 80's seem to be coming back into fashion rapidly. With the Paramore album sounding like it was produced by Cyndi Lauper. (Fine by me!). Warpaint definitely has some of that wonderful 80's flare to their sound as well. More subtle perhaps, but still good. Lot's of chorus from the Roland Jazz chorus amp. Lots of reverb and buried, layered vocals. Good listen.

the danielson famile pioneered indie music.
this is the first release from a band that has been going strong for over a decade now. when this album came out on tooth and nail in the mid nineties, brandon ebel didn't know what to call it. the term indie hadn't really even became a genre yet so they described danielson's music as avant gard.
from a guy that took a few guitar lessons but quit taking them because he didn't want to get too good, comes this very artistic, re-definitive of music, breath-of-fresh-air release. with twenty four tracks. (intended to be listened to one at a time at the begining of each hour for 24 straight.) of crazy sounds, high pitched vocals and inventive lyrics, this is a great underground type release. i will warn you in advance that there is no middle ground on this band, you either like them or you don't. but if you like them, you love them.
