One of the greatest moods in all of anime

Some people will find the first several episodes not only disturbing, but also might even find them grueling. The creators explain that this is exactly what they wanted. In the beginning you are placed in a state of confusion and loss. You feel the growing anxiety of the characters and the doomed world they seem to exist in. Like many of the best this series combines philosophy and science fiction as a driving force. It is arguably one of the best shows I have seen, and to be clear, it is also one of the most serious anime series I have ever seen. If you liked Ergo Proxy than this show will have some of that dark moodiness, but you must be willing to wait a bit longer for the action as this is not an action driven show. Its pace is as melancholy as its perception of the world within. If you dont have the patience for serious art then look elsewhere for your entertainment. Someone said it takes 3 viewings to get it. That is purely untrue. If you take the time to watch this series undistracted, and if you are not a stranger to the philosophical concepts within (any seasoned anime fan should be they are not new by any means) than this is going to be a real treat and worthy of your deepest appreciation.
