To all doubters: This is the definitive edition
100% Original broadcast audio and video. To answer a question that keeps popping up about picture quality, you have to consider the timeframe of production. Back in the 80s the technology of recording directly to magnetic tape was considered cutting edge; and while we can all look back and scoff at the shortsightedness of not capturing everything in film, bear in mind that NOBODY was thinking that far ahead. TV shows were designed for a single initial run, and maybe some syndication afterward. There was no such thing as high definition, save for the occasional film projector. Do i wish the series had been captured on 35mm and saved for the ages? Obviously! But a funny thing I've noticed about rushing to ubiquitous digitization is that after the initial minutes of viewing, I don't even notice a lack of resolution. Our eyes adjust much faster than our preconceived notions and prejudices about picture quality. I have compared the resolution of this UK release to both the Time Life and Netflix presentations and found them identical. There is no doubt in my mind that the master tapes were used in the creation of all 3 releases, and while I may be disappointed at the occasional softness of the picture, I cannot in any way fault the work of Fabulous Films. This is quite simply as good as the series will ever look and sound, and if I am to be honest and put aside rose coloring for a moment, the television with which I viewed these in their initial run was a POS Zenith 20" tube TV; you could barely differentiate between actual programming and static. It is a testament, then to the nostalgia this series evoked, and now rekindles stronger than ever. This deluxe edition is just that, and to its DVD producers: keep up the great work!

Brilliant Chaos and speed
Possibly the best way to get introduced to this band; it IS all screaming and harsh metal, but you don't buy an album with a cover photo of skulls and tank treads expecting Enya.
