HP 8600 Display Control Panel
The new (used) display works great!!
It's a sad day, with a large number of complaints about these displays documented, HP would not replace it as a true defective product.
However, a finally got in touch with a HP Customer Service person who went above and beyond to get be a coupon towards a new printer and even sent me new ink cartridges for the ones I had recently purchased for the defective printer.
Now, it's a good day, I have my old printer working and a new printer with extra ink waiting to be used when I run out of ink on my current printer or maybe I will give one of the printers to a grandchild.
Thanks to the HP Customer Service for doing the right thing and thanks to Ebay for having the replacement panel.
