Great product for getting bulky kayaks and ladders out of the way and keeping them safely stored.
Tried building my own hoist only to find that they already make one that does everything you need and more. Bought a set of 2 and one of the brakes works great, almost 2 great as it is a little hard to get down. The other break doesn't quite work good enough, but is good enough once you tie it off. I am not keeping my kayaks on the hoists, only using them to get up to my rafters but could have stored them in the hoist w/out a problem. Just what I was looking for and easy to put up. Great value and seems to be a quality product.
