Boetticher and Scott are great together

The great collaborations between director Budd Boetticher and star Randolph Scott are put on view and examined in this great collection of 5 of their films together on Blu-ray. The prints look beautiful. The stories are tough. This set is wonderful!

Good movie looks good on Blu

Darn good, complex, 50s western. Not a typical shoot 'em up. Allegiances switch. Someone is right, then he is wrong. This is a muddied morality play, with great performances from Richard Widmark, Henry Fonda, and Anthony Quinn. Dorothy Malone also stars, and you get to see a young Frank Gorshin (pre-Batman's Riddler). The picture and sound are good. The special features are virtually non-existent though. A newsreel and a trailer? Bummer. The price may be a bit high for a disc with so few features, but the movie is hard to find anywhere, so the price makes sense.
