Le Pro or Triangle tips... which is better?
I've always loved the game of pool. We used to play for 12 hour stints, play ring games, go to tournaments in Vegas, etc. Love the game. I took a break from playing competitively when I got married 8 years ago. I still sport a 9' Gold Crown at home, but it's not the same.
Anyway, I decided it was time to redo all my tips some months ago. So I asked what the best tip was, and was told Kamui. I tried it, expecting something fantastic, but was disappointed. The tip mis-cued and was hard as a rock. SO I started thinking; What tips did we use back in the day? I thought of 2 names; Le Pro and Triangle. So I bought some Le Pro tips. They were OK in that they were no better or worse than the hard Kamui tip I had already. Then I called a big time cue maker friend of mine in Alaska, and he said he used to use Triangle tips back in the day, but nowadays everyone expects super high end layered tips on their high end cues, so he doesn't use Triangle tips any longer.
I have a box of Triangles on the way. My advice is to try a medium Triangle tip over a Le Pro. Le Pro's are fine for house cues, etc. But Triangles are going to be better (I used them for years).
FYI, I'm fairly sure I just got a bad Kamui tip. Maybe it sat around for a few years and hardened, I don't know. Anyway, I'm not knocking Kamui. I'm sure a good layered tip (like Kamui) is better than a non-layered Triangle (or Le Pro) tip. I'm just saying that I don't remember my Triangle tip every being my weak link. (That was me!)

Clean install on 3 Dell Latitude laptops running XP Pro
I maintain old laptops for a company who still runs XP on a handful of computers, because proprietary software they use only works on XP. I purchased a handful of these drives. They were brand new and 100% as advertised. And inexpensive which was great. Anyway, I can't call them "fast" because they're old 5400 RPM drives on old technology, but they are plenty good for anyone needing a small drive. (They're as fast as you expect an old 5400 drive to be!) They are quiet (no clicking) and reliability-wise I've had zero issues. Good buy.
