This CD gets ALL straight "A's!"
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich There are 25 wonderful songs on this CD and every one of them should be an "A" side. Some are rare but there's not a "B" in the bunch. The truth is, Mr. Williams has always earned straight "A's!" And speaking of rare..."Louisiana Purchase & Jubilee," lead off this CD and are two absolute gems from the 1940's night club act of Kay Thompson & The Williams Brothers. If you ever see any of their music from this time period it is usually found on a 78 RPM. These two songs alone have enough lyrics for 10 songs! Their performances were described as "lightning in a bottle." When you listen and imagine the aerobic dance routines they did as they sang, you will agree! Hola! There are also familiar favorites like "Cherish, He Ain't Heavy, If You Could Read My Mind and The Sound of Music" along with others that feel familiar through their orchestrations. Mr. Williams' interpretations are exceptionally beautiful. When you listen to "So Little Time, Loved One, Autumn and I'll See You in My Dreams" you will wonder why these were considered anything other than "A" side material. His voice is spectacular. When he sings he melts glaciers. Perhaps he is responsible for global warming? But what a way to go! This CD was compiled and issued by "Collectables." The insert art is gorgeous! All Andy Williams fans will want this in their collection. I recommend this CD to everyone who appreciates beautiful clean orchestrations and has an interest in hearing the powerful yet gentle voice of a "National Treasure," Mr.H. Andrew Williams.

Jeepers Creepers Sign Me Up!

A young Andy Williams gives of his time and talent to "The National Guard" by performing in a series of fifteen minute radio shows for recruitment and promotional purposes. He sings his heart out and you feel it. This is a man with a romantic soul. No big orchestration or band. Just a small combo of outstanding musicians. The result of this collaboration is an intimate performance that is best described as 58 minutes of bliss. There are four different shows on this CD; five through eight with every song abbreviated to fit the fifteen minute format. Mr. Williams introduces, closes and sprinkles each show with stories, observations and humor. His is the only voice heard. His personality comes out to play and he is adorable! His voice is so pure, strong and smooth. Every song on this CD is gold. His rendition of "But Not For Me," for me, is perfection. He covers popular standards, tips his fedora to Steve Allen and belts out his winning "Blue Angel" life changer "A Romantic Guy I." Many thanks to the good people at "Submarine Records-Sounds of Yester Year" in the UK, for providing the American audience with this exceptional recording. The sound quality is terrific! The portrait photograph used on the cover is stunning and is beautifully reproduced on the disc in full color. If you are an Andy Williams fan you will NEED to add this to your collection. If you are someone interested in hearing what true talent actually sounds like, buy this CD, sit back and let his gift wash over you! Better brush up on your penmanship... I'm expecting "thank you" notes!

Yule Love this Andy Williams Holiday DVD!
Season's change and even though it's still sweltering in my neighborhood, I was drawn to this DVD
for the cold & cozy days ahead. I look forward to sweater weather and happy people. As soon as
the Yule Log appeared & Mr. Williams' voice filled the house, I was sipping hot chocolate and building
snowmen in my mind! You will sing along & swing along with The Andy Williams Christmas Album!
The red jacket vinyl classic! A lot of people think watching a TV fireplace is silly. I'm guessing those
people have real fireplaces in their homes. But if you don't and wish you did, this very real video will
satisfy that desire. Now, if they could only add the aroma of hickory...home run!
