cheap bits that don't last
at first i thought it was me or my machine causing these to break quickly. but i have had my spindle taper ground for 100% taper contact and the runout is 0.0001". these bits still won't hold up. i talked to the factory that made them and their recommended feeds and speeds for mild steel are 100-160sfm with chip load of 0.0015" per tooth. snapped as soon as it hit the metal. they are cheap but they don't last any length of time. some will break instantly with the same settings you ran 3 parts on the previous bit. best i have done with them is at 250sfm and chip load of 0.0006".
