good insight and well worth it
The book is informative and explains the differences between how a bowl gouge cuts and how carbide does the same job only quicker and with far less catches. I had most of it figured out through trial and a few errors. The book explained what I was doing right and wrong. I have not tried the projects but they look interesting. Good book. I would recommend it to fellow turners.

bowl finish
The oil is of good quality and dries quickly and leaves the wood bowls with a satin finish that is hard, food safe and durable. Several coats works best. There is only a light darkening of the wood, which is preferred on light wood and the grain of the wood pops out nicely.
