Hogue Grips: a Shooter's Friend
In ebay's 5-star rating system I gave this product four stars...only because 5 stars was entitled "awesome sauce." "Sauce" is stupid --Hogue grips are just the opposite, and I've used them for more than 30 years.
Many of my center-fire grips have non-slip stippling on the front and back of the grip. Once I'm locked into the stipplied grip, my hand/hands don't move -- essential to congtrol and consistency in sustained fire. But some "gotta have" pistols come without stippling or too-small grips. Hogue makes grips for virtually every grip and hand size in a variety of surfaces---pebbled or smooth, "straight" or with finger-grooves. I've known a lot of shooters who wished they hadn't bought a 9mm or .45 "Too much recoil." Once they have rubberized grips like Pachmeir or Hogue, they brag about their "soft shooting" new pistol.

Vortex Crossfire 2-7 Scout Scope
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich I use "scout" scopes on vintage military rifles. Because I'm a bit too old for iron sights, I buy scope mounts
that clamp onto the Mauser's mount that holds the original "ladder" sight. I then use a scout scope for 200 yard
military rifle matches. I like 2-7 power. The higher settings make it a lot easier to sight-in. The lower powers
(2-4) allow us to get on target quickly. In fact, a forward-scoped military rifle offers everything you'd need for
deer.
I've tried to use pistol scopes for this purpose, but was disappointed in their lack of eye relief. A true "scout"
scope --like the Vortex I just purchased-- has really good eye relief. That enables me to move the scope fore
--depending on the rifle's length-of-pull when installing it.
I looked through several Vortex scopes at my gun club and was impressed with their quality -- especially
for the price. Many of us would like to continue using our old military rifles. A scout scope like this enables
us to do so without pouring a ton of money into an old Springfield or Mauser.

Best bipod for the money
Performance, versatility, ease & range of adjustments and quality of materials. I especially like the the two ways of leveling the bipod: A knob under the bipod's head enables the head to be horizontally canted -- meaning it can be leveled on uneven terrain.
Secondly, each of the bipod's legs can be individually lengthened or shortened to level the rifle. Many other bipods only have notches on the legs to set length. That makes it hard to really level the scope.
I also like the way (thumb knob) the unit fastens to picatinny rails. Mine isn't a quick-release, but the pod can be fastened on or removed in less than 10 seconds -- without tools.
The GG&G is also rugged. Shooters can "load" it without worrying about harming the joints between head and legs.
Similar build quality to Atlas pods, but GG&G models with the same adjustments come at a slightly lower price point. After using one, I immediately bought a second.
