Bright but strongly non-uniform illumination on Rolleicord
Not sure about other cameras, but on my Rolleicord the situation is like that: the screen is significantly brighter in the center than the original matte-glass screen, but just as dim at the edges. This results in a worse experience for framing compared to the original, as the edges can be barely seen. Furthermore, this screen seems to be more susceptible to stray reflections which makes things worse. It is also nearly impossible to focus using outer parts of the screen. I went back to the original screen as a result. On a plus side the split prism is really nice and helpful, so focussing is much easier, especially in dim light.
If you're ok with central focussing and are ready to pay special attention to the edges of the frame trying to neglect the bright center, the screen might be for you.
