If your jewelry project uses copper wire, the descrption is correct.
These tools are excellent for cutting thin copper wire. I use this particular tool for electronics projects.
I do NOT recommend trying to use these cutters for cutting steel wire. Specifically, don't try to use them to trim off excess wire from your guitar or banjo. The cutting edges of these Xuron "microshear" cutters become "nicked" when you do this, even with very thin gauge steel wire. I suspect that similar damage would occur from attempts to cut stainless steel wire.
