Thank you so much for sending it signature required - We had to go out of town on a moment's notice for a family funeral and couldn't be at home to take it in when it arrived - the required signature meant it was safe at the post office until we got back. thank you again for very fine service.

GENEROUS INSIGHT TO REAGAN FAMILY LIFE
I'm about half way through this book, but I can come back later and add to this review. Initially, my thoughts were, “Is Patti Davis (she used her mother's maiden name) really a writer”?
Then I read that Patti wrote quite frequently as a child. Her mother (Nancy Reagan) would pick her up from school and find her writing all alone, underneath a tree. When Patti describes something, it’s like you’re right there with her, feeling her raw emotions. She’s such a gifted writer. I could never describe life events the way she does with such beauty and profound language.
Many of us knew President Reagan when he was vibrant and full of life while he resided in the White House. I was working at “The Washington Hilton” in Convention Services the day he got shot. I quietly disappeared from my job to see him in a large conference room, high up on a stage. He had just concluded his speech to the AFL-CIO Conference. He was so impressive and larger than life.
Patti generously gives us a peak at their personal family life just after President Reagan was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. I’m so honored/privileged to be able to read this part of history about this brave man who was utterly respected worldwide. It surprises me to see how much his popularity has grown during this current, presidential election season. Everyone wants to quote Ronald Reagan, he’s such a excellent presidential role model!

GREAT INSIGHT AS WHAT NOT TO DO AS A PARENT
Any parent who believes in corporal punishment, strict discipline, without being approachable, would benefit immensely by reading this biography.
Bing Crosby (Gary’s father) most likely grew up in "Spare the rod and spoil the child" era. By the end of Gary’s biography, Bing tries to repeatedly repair the damage he did in raising his 4 boys by numerous attempts to establish an bond between parent and his adult children, but by then it's way too late.
Gary Crosby gives in-depth insight on what it's like to be a small child and not have your emotional needs met while growing up in an environment where one parent is an alcoholic and the other is world renown (with very little privacy and strict discipline).
Gary has now passed away, but he did future generations of parents a huge favor by writing this biography, as we all desire good relationships with our children as they mature. After reading this candid biography, I have utter respect for the author's courage in writing it. I also thank him for providing great insight on what NOT to do as a parent, and what life is like being an alcoholic.

REVIEW FOR ELVIS AND GINGER
2 von 2 finden das hilfreich Thought the first half was written quite eloquently. The 2nd half was extremely graphic, especially his death scene.
May be some animosity regarding the Presley estate never paying off Mrs. Alden (Ginger's Mother) home mortgage loan. Book states it was a verbal promise/agreement between Mrs. Alden, Ginger, and Elvis. However, nothing was legally documented.
Elvis lived his life as a great humanitarian, and was a dynamic entertainer. Book is based upon here-say.
