Great voice, eclectic mix,, and great personal style can't beat it.
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich What else can be said, if you are buying this CD then you are most likely familiar with Robert Palmer and will know what you are getting. Music is subjective, liked by the listener if it strikes the right feelings. I personally love Robert Palmer, a nice deeper register unlike some artists around in the 80s. Smooth, breathy, at times almost whispering voice, mixed with some soul style shouts on harder songs. There is not a bad song on this album. It features the hit simply irresistible, and 3 cover tunes, including one by the Jacksons, but Robert Palmer's vocals are much preferred over Micheal or any of the Jacksons' voices for me. Robert Palmer's choices on how to use his voice in songs, where to shout, and and put emphasis, and where to back off into a smooth voice always WOW-ed me. It adds character to a voice that is quite natural, and makes the voice uniquely mimickless. There is a great mix of genre's on this CD featuring Palmer's vocals, So, if you hate JAZZ, or ISLAND MUSIC, and love ROCK and BLUES, or vice versa, you may not like every song on this album, but there is something for everyone, and I certainly enjoyed the entire thing. Each song is done perfectly in the style suited for the genre of music it is.

Beauty and the Beast - Love the message, love the film

Features the voices of Robby Benson, Angela Lansbury and David Ogden Stiers. Academy Award Nominations: 6, including Best Picture, Best Song ("Be Our Guest"), Best Song ("Belle"). Academy Awards: Best Song ("Beauty and the Beast"). MY REVIEW***** EXCELLENT - It is as relevant now as ever. The message this movie sends is true and timeless, and the movie has a strong, captivating story to go with it. It has been one of my favorite movies since I was a child. In my 20's now, I have rediscovered it, and love it as much as ever. You can watch it with children, and keep being entertained time after time. It gets a bit violent toward the end, but nothing a little fast forwarding won't cure when watching it with the younger members of your family. It really has a duel message. The first being that one should be good and kind or they will be seen as a beast, and the second being that it is what's inside that counts, and one can't judge a book by its cover. Being that it is a children's film, I would normally rate this a "Good" rather than "Excellent" because of the violence in the feature that may be unnecessary and difficult to watch for some children. However, if one likes this film in spite of that, it is perfect for them. I have decided to rate it "Excellent" in spite of the violence, because this new edition features plenty of games, and special features that are more than enough to make up for what a child may be lacking from the film. For me, personally, I love this film because I am a disabled man. As a disabled individual, I am thankful for this movie, and its message for teaching generation after generation of people that its OK to be different.

Let me make clear that I have written many reviews, and am only doing so now, because I have recently gotten this item, and cannot bring myself to leave the review unfinished. I purchased this for a holiday gift, I personally do not enjoy vampire mythology. I find any vampire-based story to have sexual, and homosexual undertones throughout; quite violent and downright annoying for my taste. With that said, being that I do not enjoy vampires, I do not feel comfortable turning one away from this who may enjoy it. So I will say I did not enjoy this, but if you like vampires, and a gritty, uncensored look, which HBO provides, you may enjoy this.
