Older is better
Bought this used sliding bracket for my 14" Delta band saw whose bracket cracked. The part was manufactured discontinued but I saw similar newer bracket/tension assemblies that may have worked. However, I saw this older assembly for half the cost of new & decided to give it a try. The metal seems much sturdier than the sand cast iron of the original for my saw. I discovered the reason the original broke was because the saw's grooves were not milled properly to allow the bracket to move freely, in fact, I had to chip the pieces out to remove entirely. I filed the wings of the replacement bracket (real steel) until it slid easily into the saw arm & everything worked perfectly after I reassembled the saw. In the process, I learned a lot about tuning band saws by watching YouTube videos.

Good quality head piece, band too tight
Was very pleased with the quality of the head piece, however, the band is non-adjustable and probably too tight for most adults. Since my wife is allergic to some metals against her skin, I cut off the head piece's band, cut the visor off a sun visor and hot-glued the sun visor with adjustable band to the head-piece. This made for a very comfortable wear with no metal touching skin. Using this head-piece for a Cleopatra costume and it really completed to look. Very happy with the purchase.
