More than nostalgia!
For Evangelion fans who enjoyed the ADV English dub, or new Evangelion fans who are curious and wants to experience the stellar performances that made this Japanese masterpiece a classic in the US!
Everyone did a great job, but the star is Spike Spencer. In my opinion, he will always be Shinji. Some voices you can never separate from a character, and if you haven't seen the series yet, you'll know why when you watch it.
This boxset is the most recommended by fans in terms of the quality of the ADV dub, which is why I, as well as many others, prefer it.
The show is a bit complex, as it deconstructs Japanese anime character archetypes, while telling a story of a group of a chosen few adolescents with psychological baggage and circle of traumatized men and women, who must learn how to function and work together to stop these "Angels" from initiating an apocalypse bigger than anything that happened before.
