One of the Best Sports Movies
One of my favorites in the "sports movie" genre. And yet it's so much more. The depiction of rural life, the small town school and of course basketball, are all so engagingly portrayed that you are quickly pulled into the story. You will root for the Huskers with all your might. Gene Hackman's performance is outstanding, as is Barbara Hershey's. But I really enjoyed Dennis Hopper's "Shooter" character. I think he truly deserved the Best Supporting Actor award for which he was nominated, but unfortunately did not win.
The Blu-ray DVD has some wonderful extras about the real life team that inspired this story. And it has some great deleted scenes, which really should have stayed in the movie, especially the scene that explained how Buddy rejoined the team. Hoping that they will reissue a Directors cut of this movie, incorporating all the lost scenes.

Grandma's China is Complete
Recently inherited my grandma's beautiful 8-place setting of Minton china. The only piece missing was the sugar bowl. So happy to find the pattern/item on Ebay. It is in perfect condition and a perfect match to the Ancestral pattern. Delivery was very quick, and packaging was excellent to insure this fragile china was preserved.

Enjoyable Movie
Have always enjoyed this movie. Great acting from Bancroft and Maclaine. Gorgeous ballet sequences. Not easy to find on DVD. Glad to find it here at such a reasonable price.
