The right choice for most players on Original Xbox.
The Controller S replaced "The Duke" as the standard for good reason: it's smaller, so it fits into a lot more peoples' hands. The directional pad is also much better. The breakaway feature was pretty neat at the time, and was included here (some listings here don't include them, probably because they can get lost.)
My example was in mostly good shape: all buttons and triggers work well, sticks feel smooth and don't exhibit any drift. The rubber has worn, but you can get caps for them anywhere video games are sold.
My only complaint is that there appears to be some rust on the plug that wasn't really visible in the listing photos. I'm not going to hold this against the seller since the price was so good and breakaway plugs are fairly inexpensive.
