I bought this book because I had already read The Queer Adventure ( The Yellow Fairy Book ) and really enjoyed it.

I would say that The Enchanted Wood is more suitable for really young readers as the situations that the children get into are a bit repetitive and not really that exciting for older readers. I personally prefer Enid's stories for older children with the exception of The Queer Adventure.
