Outstanding in every field except the price - it is a Canon after all.
3 von 3 finden das hilfreich Oh Lord, where to start? Fabulously fast, ultra sharp and a pleasure to handle.....but beware. If you are of slight build (as my wife) then it is not a hand-held lens, it's a tripod job. Lenses of this size have a lot of bottle glass, and it doesn't come lightly. Thankfully, I'm of a robust construction, so it suits me perfectly. IS? Generally not a necessary function if you remember to keep your shutter speeds up - or nearly double the price and you can buy the same lens with IS. Value for money? Well, it's a Canon product so there is a built-in margin for the name but it does what it was designed for, and does it superbly well. I have been able to compare this with a Canon L series 200mm prime. There is no difference in image quality.
Overall, remember this is a pro lens and it has a long and distinguished history. If you find you get disappointing images, first consider your own techniques and abilities before blaming the lens.
