Take care of it and it will take care of you!
Barber here! (been cutting for 5 years now and my first tool was a Wahl Designer) Wahl has the best entry level tools for any new Barber or someone wanting to cut their own hair.
They dependably perform without the painful pulling, inconsistent power, or useless features of low quality clippers and trimmers. That being said, I prefer the power of the Andis T-Outliner but for the value you can't beat getting the Hero with this set. These machines need regular cleaning and oiling to operate at their best. I recommend sticking with the brand name oil (don't try and use other types of lubricant it can mess with the blade sharpness). Not winding the cord around the tool also helps keep the inner wiring from fraying prematurely- I use old plastic hollow rollers or Velcro straps to keep my cords tangle free.
You won't regret buying this and if for some reason it doesn't perform it might be something as simple as oiling the blades.
