Disappointed

About 10 feet down the cable, signal so weak that locating was impossible. I couldn’t find cables that I knew the precise location.

Couldn't afford a new one, but got an excellent buy on a slightly used one here on eBay

I'd been lusting over this lens for a while. The new ones were totally out of reach for me. But here on eBay, I found a perfectly good, slightly used lens. Talked to the owner about it and decided to bid. Really happy when I won it for a fair price, much less than the newer model. Overjoyed when it came and I began to use it. Combined with a 1.4 extender, it is a really great wildlife lens. I'm comfortable with the push-pull focal length adjustment. A twist barrel would have been better, but I can pop it totally out or in extremely quickly; catching that shot that I might have otherwise missed. Edges are clear as expected. The lens is too big and too heavy for an all-round carry on the camera lens; and it doesn't go down short enough. So you need to have a purpose to use it. (like birding or wildlife) and carry a point and shoot for close up subjects. This lens is a keeper.
