Beyond "WOW" factor
I normally use in line compression and I've tried a lot of different brands. MXR consistently delivers the goods. I tried to save a few bucks by using the comparatively much less expensive Dyna-Comp and the Super-Comp; both are good units and worked well for a time, but tend to be a bit too linear for the bass. I finally dropped the $$ on the MXR M87 and the difference was immediate and dramatic. Totally tailored to the needs of the bassist, the MXR M87 is a beast! Tasty design, easy to use, very flexible and well made, I had my settings in very short order. I'm kicking myself for not getting one long before now. If you are considering an in line compressor, this one should be on your short list. If you wondering whether or not to buy this particular pedal - wonder no more- GET ONE...GET ONE NOW!!

entry level at best
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich I bought these to use as "wash light" for our drummer. For this they will be fine, however, when they arrived I had trouble getting 2 of the 4 put together. The nuts provided did not thread into the body correctly and I had to "rig" them to make them work. In my initial assessment I noted that I would recommend them - and I would - if these lights are going to be part of a permanent installation, or VERY GENTLY used. The plastic housing seems pretty flimsy, but on the good side - they are very bright, have a nice beam angle and they are very easy to program.

The right tool for the job.
3 von 3 finden das hilfreich I'm the bassist, but I'm also the sound guy; our drummer got this for his kick drum in order to put in through the PA system without needing a kick mic. It took us a while a dial it in, but when we hit the sweet spot the results were astounding. The unit never missed a trigger, nor did it ever double trigger - with just a touch of EQ from the board we had his kick sounding like thunder!
