For advanced child or adult
First of all, the picture on the box is misleading. All of the internal organ pieces need to be painted and glued together. The skeleton is in so many pieces it's a major puzzle all by itself. I almost sent it back but then decided to paint, glue & partially assemble it before using it as a gift for an 8 year old in a year or so... when she's 9 or 10. This puzzle is a major challenge even for an adult.
On the bright side, I have enjoyed working on it. I probably would not give this to anyone younger than a 12 or 13 year old without expecting to help them. I had a Visible Horse when I was a kid & loved it. I don't remember it being this challenging.
