Greatly stabilizes the powerful recoil of carbine-style Mosin Nagants.
The well-used Mosin Nagant was shooting very well with the bayonet in the "out" position, shooting a 6-shot single ragged hole with a green dot sight at 50 meters, which is excellent for a Mosin in my experience. But I decided to try this muzzle brake to see if I could push the accuracy further. The accuracy remained unchanged, but the big thing was the way the recoil was reduced dramatically, allowing the rifle to push straight back like a target rifle and not "jump and twist" on the bench. This brake is large but its tanker-style shape and size are not out of place on the M44/53-style Mosin carbine and does not disturb the balance of the rifle. Very useful, very effective, very cool.

I toyed with the idea of getting this stock for over a year. I'm sorry I hesitated. Excellent stock that raises the performance of the Mosin Nagant.
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich As fans of Mosin Nagants well know, you never know what you're going to get (aside from the history) in terms of accuracy with these rifles. The beat-up Chinese M53 I picked up cheaply (relatively!) with a very dirty and worn barrel shot better than most I've owned off the irons with the bayonet extended. The original stocks on these rifles are very uncomfortable and the triggers are so bad they ruin any chance of consistent precision. I wanted to see what it could do with a modern, ergonomically-designed stock. Am I asking too much from a Mosin? Maybe. I ordered the Pro-Mag Archangel stock and a Timney trigger made for the Mosins. The stock was extremely rigid and beautiful in the dark green. It placed my hand and finger in a comfortable position for proper a trigger-pull. The rifle slipped very snugly into the stock with no alteration and tightened down firmly and left the barrel floating. I mounted a inexpensive 2-7x32mm scout scope. At the range I extended the bayonet and shot some rounds with basic Wolf 147g ammo. The groups were not great at 50 yards, 1" at best (= to 2 MOA at 100 yards). Then I tightened the barrel-tensioner on the bottom of the forend ever so slightly; just enough to see the barrel move a bit away from the barrel-channel and shot another group. Now the rifle came to life and started drilling one shot right next to another with some touching. Now it was in 1 MOA/Sub-Moa land. I'm very impressed with the thought that went into this stock design. The 10-rd mag operated perfectly and clicked in and out with ease and assurance. It is a keeper and raises the Mosin Nagant to another performance level. Imagine what might be possible with an higher-quality, less-worn Russian or Finnish Mosin?

Put it on a CZ 527 American .223 with a 1 in 12 twist.....
Working very well. I got this model because of the parallax adjustment. I like to shoot for accuracy and the parallax adjustment helps greatly at distance. Glass is very clear and the reticle is thin in the center so it does not obscure the target at distances. Excellent scope for the money.
