Great machine, blue nightlight unwanted

Like another reviewer, the lumens from the array of bright blue LEDs on the control panel have a folded dark towel sitting on top of the machine to black it out at night. Once I read the manual on the "germs" setting—which says that that a slower fan speed enables viral particles to be more easily captured—I just leave it on the "sleep" setting, which is the slowest speed anyway. If things get dusty, I will just set it up to High speed and leave it for an hour or three when I'm up and about.
But I do like it.

Nice little unit, but battery life sucks.
2 von 2 finden das hilfreich Apparently, the battery keeps a disc spinning as long as there's one in there, whether or not you are actually listening to it. Result is, I used the player for 1.5 hours total before it demanded new batteries. Given that the blasted thing does NOT include an AC adapter (which I bought for $3 new), the fact that battery use is constant unless you ACT to make it stop spinning a disk, there's a design failure of how people use it that is just plain stupid.
I feel as though the whole CD player industry is conspiring against me; I bought a low-end "boombox" player from a local big-box store and discovered that it does not have any headphone jack, when I went to use it after discovering that the GPX player eats batteries for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

expands home wifi network easily
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich Compact, affordable wifi router can act as either a base station (if you don't already have a wifi router), or, will very readily expand your home wifi. I used it as a second router in my network to enable wifi printing because my printers are all Ethernet connected (to a small LAN Enet router in that room). Adding this unit to the printer connection was straightforward.
Apple's AirPort Utility software walked me through the process of adding to the network, and also prompted me to update the firmware on both my AirPort Extreme existing base station *and* the new AirPort Express that I added. Took a little extra time (maybe 25 minutes) all told, but that included downloading the firmware updates for each unit separately, restarting each unit (which the Util does automatically), and then enabling me to format the network.
