Does exactly what it should.
Connect your Thunderbolt Mac to your FireWire peripherals using this adapter. Reaches 480 Mb/s (60 MB/s) peak and consistently averages 440Mb/s (55 MB/s) transfer rate. Your set up may run faster or slower.
Please check specs first if you want to daisychain.

Surprisingly Good - Buy It!
Does exactly what you need it to - and it's fast. Very fast.
At first, when the blue light came on but my computer didn't detect a USB connection, I thought I'd got a dud - but I needn't have worried. As soon as this has an eSATA drive attached it shows up and everything works seamlessly.
Data transfer from an external mechanical drive is as fast as the native USB 3 connection in my tests - in other words, the limiting factor was the read/write capabilities of the test HDD (LaCie Quatro), not the data bus.
This comfortably sustains data rates above 1.5 Gbps which is 2.5 x faster than the same drive on FireWire 800 and 5 x faster than USB 2 but I've not been able to test its limits because I just don't have an external drive fast enough!
Great value and highly recommended.

Title says it all. They really work. Now on my third lot in as many years. Highly recommended.
But don't forget that these only catch the males so females will still lay eggs if they're already pregnant.
Combine these with hanging moth killers etc and you can stop an infestation in its tracks
