Dvorak is always good.

Good music. The case was badly broken,though., whic reduced its value somewhat as I had to buy replacement case.

Among the finest Shostakovich cycles.

I can't say much more than reviews of Petrenko's Shostakovich cycle, which rate it highly, as they do his Tchaikovsky cycle. It is rare for any symphonic cycle to contain the best performances of all the symphonies, and this one is no different, but tten, there is strong competition (Kondrashin, Mravinsky, Barshai, Rostropovich, Haitink to name ones that I know, in part, at least). But the best ones are consistently good - and Petrenko's cycle is most certainly that.

Bělohlávek and the Czech Philharmonic playing Dvořák - What's not to like?

I love Dvořák and rate Bělohlávek and the Czech Philharmonic highly. While I know some recordings of the last three Symphonies and the Cello Concerto that I may like as much or more (there are very many of them, so perhaps this is not surprising), this set is up there with the Kubelik and Kertesz sets of the symphonies - and this one offers the concerti too. And of course, you have a great Czech orchestra and the latest recording technology; the sound is outstanding. Very good value. Also, I had a faulty CD5 (Symphonies 6 and 7) and this has been replaced without fuss, which reflects well on this seller.
