Brilliant parody that requires real effort from the reader
This is not an easy read and there aren't many easy laughs at all. This is the sort of parody where the joke will be set-up on page 2 but the punchline won't come until page 40. For instance, on page 2 there is an article about the murder of a woman, and on the next page there is an article that mentions that the crossword puzzle writer's wife has been murdered, but it's not until 80 pages later or so that you get to the crossword puzzle that winds up being the creator's confession to the murder on page 2.
Although this is a sequel to the High School Yearbook Parody, and some characters and situations return, it is not necessary that you have read that book. If you want to go for authenticity, buy the original release of this parody, which is an actual newspaper printed on newspaper stock (which was brilliant at the time because it could actually be passed of as a real newspaper from that time), but if you prefer a book format, they did a really good job of reformatting it and cleaning it up for the early 2000's re-release.
