Heatsink works well. Great value for LGA1366 boards

I bought two since I was setting up a dual socket system. On the board (Tyan S7012) there was reasonable space around the coolers. The fan shroud only clips on one way, so be sure to make sure the fans will be facing the way you want before removing the fan shroud to access the mounting screws. Mounting is firm and standard 1366 socket screws. Use a decent thermal paste. My X5670s got up 55C under heavy load (running 'stress -c 24' on Linux for a few minutes) with average ambient temperature. Normal resting temperature is around 28C.

Very nice in Lenovo T61

I bought this processor since I wanted a 45nm chip so my Lenovo T61 laptop would run cooler than its T7500 (65nm) did. This chip is awesome. Now my idle temps are 4 degrees C cooler. Load temps don't get nearly as high either. Being able to run at 2.6Ghz is very nice for some tasks. If you have a T61 and are planning to install a 45nm Penryn chip in your laptop you will need to download for the updated BIOS at http://forum.notebookreview.com/lenovo-ibm/459591-t61-x61-sata-ii-1-5-gb-s-cap-willing-pay-solution-8.html#post6501443 .. and drop the guy some $$ for making the BIOS fix! :)
