Absolute Torch & Twang - Lang, K.D. (CD 1989)
2 von 2 finden das hilfreich This is one of the best albums I feel has ever been made. I literally wore mine out over the years and was having trouble finding another - thank you eBay! KD Lang has a stellar voice with a good range, and while the songs would definitely be considered to fall within the "country" category, are not the cookie-cutter "country" genre. Instead of the traditional heartbreak stories of trains and dogs and being left behind and cars breaking down and so forth, the lyrics are more along the lines of a conversation you'd be having with your best friend. And instead of a heavy accent so common to country singers, Lang is articulate, crystal clear, and accent-free, which allows the listener to more thoroughly enjoy the music and lyrics themselves versus being distracted by off-sounding speech. From the fun & upbeat "Big Boned Gal" and "Full Moon Full of Love" to the more torchy "Pulling Back the Reins" and others, is one of the most audibly entertaining albums I've ever heard, and I have NEVER been a country music fan. In fact, this is the ONLY album I've ever in 44 years bought a replacement copy of after having purchased the first one previously. Definitely worth the few dollars it will cost you to take a risk and purchase a copy of on eBay. Enjoy!

Good product. Too shallow to cut a pie or cake all the way through, but perfect for scoring.

Spectacular, have probably seen it 20 times but still ordered the movie
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich Absolutely wonderful old movie that is very relevant in today's world of trying to increase focus on tolerance between races. Probably even more relevant in some ways today than it was at the time that it was made, ironically. And the actors play their roles exquisitely. Overall tone of the movie is one of seriousness, but it definitely is humorously played at times.
