Disappointing CD version
The story is read by Samantha Bond. She has good diction, but reads far too quickly! Those of us listening to it found it hard to relax due to the manic pace!
There is piano music between some tracks, which suddenly appears out of nowhere, and shocks you! The music is nice, but the editing is poor. At the end of tracks, the word is also often cut off.
All in all, makes for unsatisfactory listening.

Brilliant!
Can't fault this in any way. Rob Inglis reads it excellently and even sings Tolkien's songs most beautifully - especially in the first part of the trilogy - The Fellowship of the Ring.

Really Pleased
3 year old loves this toy. Once you remove the plastic tab protecting the batteries, it mews.
As we've only had it a few days, I can't yet say how durable it is. But so far so good!
