Beautiful collection of songs.
Somewhat of a departure for Iris DeMent, all the songs were written by the Russian
poetess Anna Akhmatova (1889 - 1966) which Iris came across some years ago, She
then set all the poems to music into a very beautiful cd. With some good musicians including the great acoustic guitar player Leo Kottke who helped her with this project.
A different but very rewarding offering.

A collection of great songs from the early days of the American folk movement with Joan Baez, Jack Elliott, Mississippi John Hurt and a young Bob Dylan plus others. If you like American folk music this is a cd to get hold of.

Good folk / blues played in Spider Johns own funky style.
A collection of traditional and contemporary songs played in his own funky blues / folk style on his nine or seven string guitar with harmonica, bones and fiddle.
Maybe a little bit different from his early stuff but still good and worth buying.
