Doesn't fit my Linn LP12

A nicely designed and well made little device that I would imagine does its job well with an appropriate record deck. My early (1979) Linn Sondek turned out not to be however, as the centre spindle is shorter than the clamp needs. The deck is fitted with its original turntable platter but an Origin Live record mat which is thinner than the original Linn felt mat, so the spindle actually protrudes further than it would do with the original mat. A general point regarding 'suspended' turntables like the Linn is that even if the spindle had been long enough the tightness of clamp would require a really firm press against the suspension in order to fit it, which may not be desirable.
