Does what it claims - and very nicely constructed as well.
Brilliant product. Does what it claims ... I'd been struggling to pull in a distant transmitter whilst living in the shadow of a large hill (which, unhelpfully, had a couple of phone masts nearby). Using an aerial which claimed to be 4G filtered and a masthead amp (also 4G filtered) produced a signal of adequate strength - but wildly varying quality (high bit-error rates) - adding this 5G filter in line (before the masthead amp) cured the problem and now I have a reasonably strong but high 'quality' signal.

Incredibly useful with good quality optics
Indispensable accessory when relying on the optical viewfinder in situations where auto-focus doesn't work, your lens is manual focus only, or your eyesight "isn't what it used to be". For APS-C size sensor focus screens the 1.51x magnification allows you to see the entire screen without edge cut-off - and the optical quality is very good indeed. With adapters for Canon, Nikon and Pentax (though, sadly, not Olympus) - this kit will cope with most needs.

Twin capsules - but it is still Mono
1 von 2 finden das hilfreich The device contains two electret mic capsules - one wired to the left-hand channel and the other to the right. This, however, is not enough to make this a stereo microphone. Both capsules are of the omni-directional variety - they each respond equally to sound regardless of the direction from which it originates. ‘Stereo’ requires directional microphones - or at least it does if you are going to make a point-source one – i.e. one that approximates to a classic Blumlein crossed pair configuration (widely spaced microphones are a different story). This device responds equally to sound from every direction. That makes it a MONO microphone – but one which is at least electrically compatible with a two channel recording device. Other points worth mentioning are: (a) it has no on-board power source so needs to be powered from your phone or camera etc. (b) the foam behind the metal mesh grilles is so thin that it offers negligible protection against wind-blast. (c) the connector is a 3.5mm ‘TRS’ (3-ring) jack … it may not be compatible with your phone - I tried it with a couple of cheap Android smartphones and it did not work – but it was OK when plugged into a Nikon DSLR. Having said all that: it is inexpensive, looks presentable, if your device accepts a three-ring jack and can power it (check your user manual) - and you are happy with a mono recording – then by all means buy one. The photo shows the mic minus its grilles - revealing the two sealed-back (omni) capsules.
