Gross but funny
Gross humor, be forewarned. The actors seem to be having a field day. If you're not put off by the language, you will be entertained.

An unexpected treat.
2 von 2 finden das hilfreich Jonathan Foer (Elijah Wood) is a very prim young man who seeks to find out the source of his grandfather's photo of a woman by traveling to Eastern Europe. There, he encounters a most eccentric father and son who become his guides to find the woman. The road trip is filled with humorous and quirky characters, and while the tone of the venture is comedic, once he finds his quest, it becomes heart-wrenching.
Liev Schreiber's direction is delightful and quite memorable. The other thing I loved was the music by Gogol Bordello, which really colored the whole affair.
I highly recommend it.

A Powerful Journey
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich This movie rises far above its "tv movie" origins. The journey of Mary Griffith from an earnest traditional believer through her questioning basic premises and eventual advocate for gay rights is flawlessly portrayed by Sigourney Weaver. All the supporting roles are strong, with great performances by Dan Butler and Austin Nichols. I would especially recommend this for all families who learn of a gay relative. It's life-affirming and will resonate with all ages.
