Garmin C550 GPS
I bought Garmin C550 GPS as a factory refurbished from an authorized reseller, and had absolutely no problems with the seller or the purchase and received it in a timely fashion. It was great right out of the box - no scratches, looked brand new, booted right up inside my house and acquired the satellites. It is very easy to type in the location where you're going, set them as favorites or one time uses. The voices are clear, it repeats as you get closer to turns, and everyone that has traveled with me, that doesn't have one, comes away with wanting to buy one! I paid less than half of what they were selling for at the big box stores.
Also, I don't use the window mount so much, I lay mine on the console next to me, as I don't really look at it all that much, I just listen to it. I don't really like to take my eyes off the road to look at it. It still acquires the signal while laying on the seat or the console, which is great. I've also used it in my purse while walking around Washington DC, because somebody like me can get lost a block from her hotel, which I didn't do this time, with my Garmin. I had my hotel programmed in my favorites, and I roamed all over the city, and it just took me back, no problem.
I have been very happy with the directions on trips, long and short. And the e-bay price on the re-furbed models and spectacular. It would be insanity to by this thing new at a store.
You will love the clear voice, and the sharp pix of the roads. Try it!
