The little synth that can do it all.
Best bang for the buck. The X-Station can serve as your USB audio interface (complete with on-board mic pre and effects for processing external audio) as well as virtual analog synth and midi controller, not just for your softsynths but your DAW as well with dedicated transport controls. You won't find a better layout for controlling softsynths (look at the controls) or your DAW. The keyboard quality is superb, better than my Korg Triton Extreme, the joystick is a great design, it even has an X-Y pad. I love to play it and make patches while lying on the coach or in bed using just headphones - I don't even need to plug it in because I run it with rechargeable C-cells and it's very light weight in spite of the build quality. As far as I'm concerned, they did everything right with the X-Station, unlike most of the newer Novation keyboards, and forget about M-Audio - there's no comparison. Once you try this thing you'll see why it has a dedicated following.

One of the finest lenses of all time
7 von 8 finden das hilfreich I've been shooting Nikon for 35 years, and have owned about 20 Nikkor lenses. The 50mm f/1.8 Ai has the best IQ of all the NIKKORS I have (along with the 28mm f/2.8 Ai-S). It is probably the sharpest lens I've ever owned, and the contrast and color are at least as good as any Ai or Ai-s lens. The images it can produce with a tripod are nothing short of stunning. It is also an amazing value, and the 50mm angle of view, whether full frame or crop sensor, is essential for those who like primes, as I do.
Over the past few months I've sold most of my modern plastic NIKKORS and am buying Ai and Ai-S lenses to replace them. They are better for video, and for landscape photography for many reasons: smaller, lighter, better made, and easier to focus in the field and offer much more precise depth of field focus (zone focusing is superb, unlike modern AF lenses). That last fact allows me to get everything in focus while using the widest aperture I can, every time, and quickly (before my hands freeze). Oh, and they are cheap.
