Make my Kramer Striker FR-422SM a red one, please...

I bought this blue Kramer Striker guitar because I own a red Kramer Striker FR-422SM and I really, really love it. Both of my red and blue Striker guitars are factory original. However, my red Striker has the factory dual/quad rail setup with a tone knob that pulls out for center-tapping the coils. This red Striker is a terrific and amazing instrument that sounds like a quality Fender Stratocaster, but with a Floyd Rose it stays in tune better than a Strat. So, I bought this blue Striker cause I love my red one only to find out it is a totally different beast. It actually has the typical pole-piece style pickups and not the dual/quad rail type that it says it has in the description. Also, the tone knob doesn't pull out, so no center-taps either. Other than this electrical stuff and the body color the two guitars are identical even down to the model numbers. Now the bad stuff... Although the two guitars looks similar they sound tragically different. The red one has magical tone, like a quality Fender Strat. The blue however, has crappy electronics and pickups from the factory and, not surprisingly, it sounds like crap. I was going to rip out the pickups and rheostats and caps, but I just sold it instead. If you want a Kramer Striker I recommend trying the red Striker FR-422SM with the rail-type pickups and pull-out tone knob. It is a tremendous guitar. Sorry about this blue Striker but, it's a sub-sonic loser. It does look and plays great, Kramer's can be really cool, it just sounds horrible. I wish Kramer wouldn't use the same model number for two instruments that are so different sonically. Fair warning, folks...

Just Right

This guitar is perfect for what I needed. I've played 40 years, mostly electric solid bodies. I've played twelve-strings in gear shops over the years, but they seemed like too much work, and capo's don't seem to work well on 12-strings. This 8-string guitar solves all that. A fair amount of jangle, about as easy as a six string to play I love it.

This is a great book, I really liked it. Well-written and compelling hearing the stories about Joe growing up and finding his way from under the shadow of his famous father
