Very Nice little Replica
Herald House reproduction from 1972. Very nice replica with an informative preface and some useful tables allow the user to compare this edition with several other subsequent editions. Has a nice look and feel. The cover is fake leather but it looks like real leather.

A Solid Movie but not a Great Movie
2 von 3 finden das hilfreich I bought this movie on E-Bay for about $6(price+shipping). I love war movies and I had heard some good things about this film and read some good reviews. I enjoyed watching the film and felt it was well made. However, it was only a good move and I have seen much better efforts. The acting was good but nothing great. The editing was weak and it felt that the film had been edited for time. The film also had several conflicts going on at once. Between the nazi's and the jews, the jews and the russians, the brothers running the jewish partisans, between the leaders of the jewish partisans, between the religious and secular jews, between the sympathetic and anti-semetic russians etc. All of these conflicts added drama to the story but tended to confuse me and distract from the main issues in the film. While watching this film, I couldn't help but be reminded of a similar and a truley great film, "Come and See." While I can recomend Defiance as a good film, Come and See is a great film.

An Interesting if Challenging Biography
I have always been a Steve Jones fan. I listen to him on Jonsie's Jukebox most days. I always new he had a difficult life from the time he was a child because he talks about it on the air. However, I had no idea how bad it was until I started reading his book. Painful and hard to read but I feel I understand his life a little better now and where so much of the anger and emotion in the early Sex Pistols came from.
