Absolute Garbage

As a cabinet maker, I bought this as a gift for someone to use who is unable to resharpen standard plane irons. With the Stanley brand, I assumed a level of quality. Boy was I wrong. Given the price, I had lowered my expectations but, as it turns out, not low enough. The frog is made from a very poor soft alloy and, out of the packaging, mine was bowed by about 1mm. Even though I could straighten this out, I then discovered that the seat for the blade was also not true. This made it impossible (and I tried very hard) to set the blade properly. Finally, the blades are not sharp and they "rip" a shaving from soft timber - atrocious quality. Shame on you Stanley.

Reflected in Windscreen

After fitting this, it quickly became clear why Nissan do not fit this type of bright finish in the vent position. This is because, these chrome finish covers are reflected in the windscreen and are an annoying distraction. So, I cannot recommend.
