Necessary evil

Its the direct OEM replacement. There are multiple versions of this component. Most being sold are not the latest. The one I purchased was, before you purchase ensure it is at least the same level as the one beng replaced. This part failed within a year of owning the heater and it fails on a lot of heaters that I can tell. The problem seems to be bad relays soldered on the board. Hayward needs to use different relays or make them with sockets so each relay can be individually replaced. Replacing the entire circuit board is extremely expensive at >$300 vs a single relay at $10. I would not but a used one.
